Emergency Vehicle 'What to do' Presentation

Online Via Teams

This session will be delivered by an Emergency Response Driving Instructor who will talk you through what should do when an emergency vehicle approaches you onboard the road as a driver. We will talk about the legal exemptions that apply to ambulances and other emergency vehicles, so you are aware of what they can, and can't do. The session will also talk about the tactics that are adopted by a response driver on order for them to proceed safely.

You will be shown a video of an emergency response drive, so you have the knowledge and understanding of what happens behind the wheel on a response drive. Time will be given to discuss your thoughts on the response drive.

Driving Appraisal

One to One

One of our highly knowledgeable and experienced Emergency Response drivers will start by conducting a comprehensive assessment of your driving. This assessment typically lasts 15 to 30 minutes, depending on the duration of the session. They will then provide you with a detailed debrief of your drive. This will be followed by the instruction of advanced driving techniques for the remainder of the lesson.

Advanced driving is based on ‘The System of Car Control’. There are many books available both online and in paper format to help you prepare for your introduction to advanced driving

These appraisals can be undertaken as a one off introductory session to advanced driving or to improve your driving. Additional sessions can be also booked with the aim to improve your standard of driving or on one subject. i.e cornering or observation and planning.
